Thai Yoga Bodywork is practiced on a mat on the floor. When receiving this work the client is fully clothed. Clothing should be loose fitting and comfortable, such as yoga pants or sweatpants and a t-shirt or tank top, to allow for ease of movement and flexibility.
The therapist supports the client’s body as they are placed into Hatha Yoga postures while receiving massage techniques that include rhythmic compressions, range of motion, deep tissue massage, reflexology, stretching, breath work and relaxation techniques. The therapist may use their hands, elbows, forearms, feet and knees to apply these techniques throughout the session.
Thai Yoga Bodywork is a gentle, rhythmic, flowing sequence of movements integrated with massage therapy techniques that are designed to assist the muscles in releasing restrictions, thereby increasing range of motion in joints and encouraging a deeper relaxation for the client.
This bodywork is extremely beneficial for people living with chronic pain, chronic illness and muscular or sports related injuries. It may be practiced on both adults and children. It is also a wonderful practice to support a sense of overall well-being and the body-mind connection.
